Geographically High Availability IP

Our baseline offering leverages our premium network redundancy, and mitigates a range of potential issues. However, within all standard networks, standard IP addresses exist as a few single point of failure.

Micron21's Geographically High Availability IP introduces the ability to load balance between locations, reducing the reliance on any one VM or piece of hardware.

Faultless redundancy meets flexibility.

Our Geographically Redundant IP services are fully configurable. The solution is available as a fully redundant Active-Standby service across two or more locations. It is also available as a fully redundant and load-balanced Active-Active service across two locations and two or more servers.

  • Customise the length of the fail over response time from the primary server to the secondary site
  • In an Active-Active arrangement, an underperforming server can automatically be given less priority, improving response times for all of your users
  • The service is data centre, network and application aware, so if an application crashes within your environment or an entire server fails, our Geo HA IP service will automatically fail over to the secondary site

Each server is built on independent fully-redundant hardware. The units are then housed in two geographically separate data centres. Critically, both servers maintain the same public facing IP address.

The result is an IP solution that enables completely transparent redundancy while negating all DNS issues. These include time-to-live complications, and the extensive downtime associated with incorrect IP addresses being cached on local DNS servers.

Micron21’s baseline offering leverages our premium network redundancy, and mitigates a range of potential issues. However, within all standard networks, there exists a few single points of failure. These points can be addressed by incorporating High Availability.

High Availability introduces load balancing – which reduces the reliance on any one piece of hardware. This removes single points of failure within a data centre. The only remaining point of failure becomes Micron21’s Tier IV certified data centre itself.

Suitable for both co-located, cloud, or physical servers, our Geographically Redundant High Availability offers a comprehensive and reliable solution. Our GEO HA service consists of two virtual or physical servers existing in real-time synchronisation.

High Availability is for applications that cannot go down – either for brand requirements, or key systems, including emergency and enterprise services.

Micron21 utilises the strength of High Availability, and removes any remaining single points of failure. By replicating data between data centres, and load balancing traffic with a mix of BGP and load balancing technology – our clients enjoy robust security in a stable, high-availability operating environment.

Micron21 for GeoHA IP

Carrier-grade Hardware guarantees it will be able to handle the traffic needed.

Active-Active and Active-Standby configurations with failover to another geographical location.

We can customise the length of the fail over response time from the primary server to the secondary site. Response options can range from an almost-instant fail over to minutes or hours if required.

The A10 load balancers can also be deployed as a virtual appliance as a dedicated cluster for the customer.

The load balancer service is supported by our experienced team of engineers.
